ChatGPT calculator form: two ways to build one in ChatGPT

Last updated 5 November 2026

Yes, ChatGPT can build a calculator form for your business, in two ways. ChatGPT Sites, OpenAI's own feature, builds a website or lightweight app from a description. The CalcForms app builds a form from the spreadsheet or price rules you already use, and every reply reaches you with the calculations done. This guide shows what each one needs, then the CalcForms steps. The ChatGPT Sites details come from OpenAI's help article "Creating and using ChatGPT Sites", read on 5 November 2026, and can change.

Step by step

  1. Check what ChatGPT Sites needs

OpenAI's help article says ChatGPT Sites is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro accounts and to Business and Enterprise workspaces, and that building or editing a Site counts toward your Codex usage, with running and hosting counted separately. You describe the website, review a private preview, then deploy it to get a URL and choose who can open it.

  2. Add CalcForms to ChatGPT

Open the CalcForms app page in ChatGPT and click Install plugin. Sign in with your email when asked; we send a 6-digit code. A free ChatGPT account works.

  3. Give it your prices

Start a new chat. Attach your .xlsx or paste the Google Sheets link, and say what it is in one line. If you have no spreadsheet, say your prices the way you would to a new employee: "I clean windows. $8 per standard window, $14 per large, plus $40 call-out."

  4. Say what the customer should see, then test it

Tell ChatGPT which cells are questions for the customer and which are yours: "The customer enters roof size, material and pitch. Show them the total only." Type in a quote you already know the answer to and compare, then say "publish it" and share the link.

The words to say

Copy this into ChatGPT (with CalcForms added) and fill in the brackets.

Say this to ChatGPT

"Here is my pricing spreadsheet. Build a form from it. The customer fills in [the inputs], everything else is calculated. Show the customer only [the total]. Then publish it."

What you will see

A form with one question per input and a live total that updates as the customer types. Every reply reaches you with the calculations done: in ChatGPT, or in the web portal on Pro.

Questions about building a calculator form in ChatGPT

Can ChatGPT build a calculator form for my business?
Yes, in two ways. ChatGPT Sites builds a website or lightweight app from a description; OpenAI's help article lists it for ChatGPT Plus and Pro accounts and Business and Enterprise workspaces (read 5 November 2026). The CalcForms app builds a form from your spreadsheet or price rules, and a free ChatGPT account works.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?
For ChatGPT Sites, OpenAI's help article lists Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, and says building a Site counts toward your Codex usage (read 5 November 2026). For CalcForms, a free ChatGPT account works.
Can it use the formulas in my spreadsheet?
With CalcForms, yes. Paste the spreadsheet into ChatGPT and CalcForms keeps your logic as the form's calculations. Your sheet's formulas work as they do in the sheet. A function CalcForms does not have is named when the form is built, not guessed.
Where do the replies go?
With CalcForms, every reply is in ChatGPT and, on Pro, in the web portal, with the customer's answers, every calculation and their email. You also get an email for each reply.
What does CalcForms cost?
Building and running forms in ChatGPT is free, with unlimited forms and replies and no card. The web portal, with the dashboard, insights and exports, is Pro. 1 day free, then $12.99 a month, billed monthly. Card required. Cancel any time; Pro stays on until the month ends.
