How to turn an Excel spreadsheet into a form customers can fill in

Step by step

1. Add CalcForms to ChatGPT

   Open the CalcForms app page in ChatGPT and click Add. Sign in with your email when asked; we send a 6-digit code. You only do this once. A free ChatGPT account works.

2. Drag your spreadsheet into the chat

   Start a new chat, attach the .xlsx or paste the Google Sheets link, and say what it is in one line: "This is my roofing pricing sheet."

3. Say what the customer should see

   Tell ChatGPT which cells are questions for the customer and which are yours. One sentence is enough: "The customer enters roof size, material and pitch. Everything else is calculated. Show them the total only."

4. Check the numbers

   ChatGPT shows you the form. Type in a quote you already know the answer to and compare. If anything is off, say so in plain words: "The metal rate should be $9.50, not $9.00."

5. Publish and share

   Say "publish it." You get a link like forms.badabingapp.cc/yourname/roofing-quote. Send it to customers, put it in your email signature, or add a button on your site.

What you will see

A form with one question per input, your formulas running behind it, and a results panel that shows only the numbers you chose. Every reply lands in your dashboard with all the calculations done, including the private ones.

Common mistakes

• Pasting a sheet with the answers typed in as numbers instead of formulas. The form needs the formulas to do the math. If your sheet is "flat", say what the rule is and ChatGPT will write it.
• Forgetting to say what is private. By default every calculation stays private, so nothing leaks; but say explicitly which number the customer should see.
• Not testing with a real past quote. Always try one you know before you send the link.
