Pick three real quotes
Choose ones that use different paths: a small job, a big one, one with the add-on ticked. Write down the inputs and the total you actually charged.
Give them to ChatGPT
"Test the form with these: 1,800 sq ft, asphalt, tear-off, total $8,950. 2,400 sq ft, metal, no tear-off, total $22,800. …"
Read the result
ChatGPT reports each one as a match or shows the difference. A mismatch usually means a rounding rule, a fee you forgot to mention, or a bracket edge.
Fix in plain words
"Round the total to the nearest $10." or "Add the $150 permit fee when the job is over 2,000 sq ft." Then test again.
Keep the tests
Say "save these as the tests for this form." From now on, any change that breaks a test blocks publishing until you fix it or update the test.

What you will see
A short report per quote: match, or the expected and actual totals side by side. Once saved, "publish" either succeeds or tells you which test failed.
Common mistakes
- Testing only easy cases. Include the quote with the discount, the surcharge, or the unusual material.
- Using a total you rounded by hand. Give the form the same rounding rule you use.
- Skipping it because the first number looked right. It takes five minutes and catches the one formula that was off by a bracket.
