Google Forms calculator: what quizzes do, and a spreadsheet option

Google Forms can score answers. You turn a form into a quiz, give each answer points, and Forms adds up the score. This guide shows what Google's quiz help describes, then how to build a form that shows a customer a price from the spreadsheet you already have, using ChatGPT. The Google details come from its help page "Create & grade quizzes with Google Forms", read on 2 November 2026, and can change.

Step by step

  1. See what Google Forms scoring covers

In Google Forms you open Settings and turn on Make this a quiz, then make an answer key, assign points and add automatic feedback. Google's quiz help page describes automatic summaries of the responses, including the average, median and range of scores.

  2. Check it fits a price or an estimate

Points per answer make a score. A quote usually adds an amount for each option and multiplies by a quantity, then shows the customer the total. Google's quiz help page describes points and scores, and does not describe showing a customer a price built from the options they chose.

  3. Paste your spreadsheet into ChatGPT with CalcForms

Open the CalcForms app page in ChatGPT and click Install plugin. Sign in with your email when asked; we send a 6-digit code. A free ChatGPT account works. Then start a new chat, attach your .xlsx or paste the Google Sheets link, and say what it is in one line.

  4. Say what the customer should see, then test it

Tell ChatGPT which cells are questions for the customer and which are yours: "The customer enters roof size, material and pitch. Show them the total only." Type in a quote you already know the answer to and compare, then say "publish it" and share the link.

The words to say

Copy this into ChatGPT (with CalcForms added) and fill in the brackets.

Say this to ChatGPT

"Here is my pricing spreadsheet. Build a form from it. The customer fills in [the inputs], everything else is calculated. Show the customer only [the total]. Then publish it."

What you will see

A form with one question per input, your spreadsheet's formulas running behind it, and a results panel that shows only the numbers you chose. Every reply reaches you with the calculations done: in ChatGPT, or in the web portal on Pro.

Questions about the Google Forms calculator

Can Google Forms calculate a price?
Google's quiz help describes assigning points to answers and automatic scoring and summaries, including the average, median and range of scores. It does not describe showing a respondent a price built from their choices (read 2 November 2026).
How do I turn on scoring in Google Forms?
Per Google's quiz help, open a form, click Settings, and turn on Make this a quiz. Then make an answer key and assign points (read 2 November 2026).
Does CalcForms work with Google Sheets?
Yes. Paste the sharing link or download it as .xlsx and attach it. Formulas, lookup tables and nested IFs come across. Your sheet's formulas work as they do in the sheet. A function CalcForms does not have is named when the form is built, not guessed.
What does CalcForms cost?
Building and running forms in ChatGPT is free, with unlimited forms and replies and no card. The web portal, with the dashboard, insights, exports and branding, is Pro. 1 day free, then $12.99 a month, billed monthly. Card required. Cancel any time; Pro stays on until the month ends.
